Moving On Missing Someone

“You can love someone so much…But you can never love people as much as you can miss them.”

“They say when you are missing someone that they are probably feeling the same, but I don’t think it’s possible for you to miss me as much as I’m missing you right now”

I guess by now I should

“I guess by now I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone-you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence.”

“When someone won’t let you in, eventually you stop knocking.”

“I miss him in so many ways, but right now I miss him in the way you always miss someone when you’re single among a room full of couples.”

“It sucks that we miss people like that. You think you’ve accepted that someone is out of your life, that you’ve grieved and it’s over, and then bam. One little thing, and you feel like you’ve lost that person all over again.”

“That’s the worst way to miss somebody. When they’re right beside you and you miss them anyway.”

“you can never love someone as much as you miss them.”

“It’s weird to feel like you miss someone you’re not even sure you know.”

“Missing someone, they say, is self-centered. I self-center you more than ever.”

Death doesn't just take

“Death doesn’t just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed.”

“That’s how you know you love someone, I guess, when you can’t experience anything without wishing the other person were there to see it, too.”

“homesickness is just a state of mind for me. i’m always missing someone or someplace or something, i’m always trying to get back to some imaginary somewhere. my life has been one long longing.”

“But nothing makes a room feel emptier than wanting someone in it.”

“You haven’t been smiling much. I missed it, so I decided to reward you for doing it.” “Reward me?” I laughed. “God, only you would think kissing someone is a reward.” “You know it is. My lips change lives, baby.”

“When you miss someone….it’s weird…your body doesn’t function normally..as it should. Because I miss you, and my heart…it’s not steady…my soul it sings numb. Fingers are cold…like you…your soul.”

“You shouldn’t miss someone who don’t miss you, right?”

“True regret is knowing you missed your only opportunity to be simply a good friend to someone that was exactly like you.”

But I’ve learned over the

“But I’ve learned over the past year what it really means to be able to miss someone. In order to miss someone, that means you were privileged enough to have them in your life to begin with.”

“You think that holding someone hard will bring them closer. You think that you can hold them so hard that you’ll still feel them, embossed on you, when you pull away.

“I feel like I’m missing something really important when you’re gone. So important I don’t feel like myself. I’ve never felt like someone was mine before. But you’re mine, Jocelyn. I’ve known that from the moment we met. And I’m yours. I don’t want to be anyone else’s, babe.”

“I could’ve sworn I was telling the truth when I told you I didn’t miss you.”

“The worst thing you can do if you miss or need someone is let them know it.”

“Knowing someone isn’t coming back doesn’t mean you ever stop waiting”

“Hearing him talk about his mother, about his intact family, makes my chest hurt for a second, like someone pierced it with a needle.”

“It’s like when someone dies, the initial stages of grief seem to be the worst. But in some ways, it’s sadder as time goes by and you consider how much they’ve missed in your life. In the world.”

“Growth in love comes from a place of absence, where the imagination is left to it’s own devices and creates you to be much more then reality would ever allow.”

Distance never seperates

“Distance never seperates two hearts that really care, for our memories span the miles and in seconds we are there. But whenever I start feeling sad cuz I miss you I remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special to miss.”

“Why do people think being with someone is the answer to everything?”

“When he texts you, he’s thinking about you. When he calls you, he misses you. When he shows up, he wants you. When he suddenly stops doing all of the above for you, he’s doing it for someone else.”

“I did love her, of course, but mostly because loving your mom is mandatory, not because she was someone I think I’d like very much if I met her walking down the street.”

“You don’t really know how much you miss someone until it’s gone.”

“Hadley didn’t know it was possible to miss someone who’s only a few feet away, but there it is.”

“Sometimes I miss them so much, it hurts me right here. It feels like someone is squeezing my heart with the strength of the entire goddamn world.”

“I want your most vital organ. I want it to be mine.”

Sometimes if you want

“Sometimes if you want something badly enough, you can make it happen. If you miss someone so desperately that it wrecks your insides, you say their name over and over until you conjure then. It’s called sympathetic magic and you just have to believe in it to make it work.”

“It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death doesn’t just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed.”

“Our plans for the future made us laugh and feel close, but those same plans somehow made anything more than temporary between us seem impossible. It was the first time I’d ever had the feeling of missing someone I was still with.”

“I mean, it’s stupid to miss someone you didn’t even get along with. But I don’t know, it was nice, you know, having someone you could always fight with.”

“You can love someone so much,’ he thought. ‘But you can never love people as much as you can miss them.”
